Why only 20 MB? No way that’s going to be enough! No, that’s actually not what I thought when I saw this ad in Ireland’s Metro newspaper a few days ago, it was more like: Did I miss something the last couple of years? And how are those USB ports going to connect with my brain anyway? Here, have a look at the ad:

The ad is for the website www.younearlyforgot.com, a service that sends you a reminder for birthdays and anniversaries. Nothing special at all.
The ad copy reads:
NEW: UP TO 20 MB REAL MEMORY
Don’t let them forget the best parts of growing up!
Finally surgery meets technology. A relatively painless procedure that allows you to store up to 20mbs memory in your head. Don’t forget birthday, holidays, parties, and other important dates again.

What do you think, how many gigabytes would we need? Will there ever be something like this?

I really like the ‘Certified by the board of cosmetic memory enhancement’-bit. What is it? Where are they based? How do you become a member?
I googled it, but the only result I got was this blog. Are you the Board, Hans?
